Three routes to do in Palencia this spring

We are just a few days away from the beginning of spring in Palencia and, while we prepare everything so that our guests are at home at Easter, we encourage you to visit our region during this season. To organize your stay, we have thought of three routes that can benefit from the increase in temperatures and that can be adapted to suit all tastes.

The route of the Iberian organs

We already talked to you in the summer about these musical instruments full of history that are found in Palencia. The Iberian organs around our Finca date back to the 18th century and are unique instruments in the world.

If you like to investigate the musical history of Castile, you should see the organs of Ampudia, Fuentes de Nava, Villaumbrales, Carrión de los Condes and of course the church of Baltanás, which is a few kilometres from our location. In all these churches you can admire the organs along with other pieces that make up the Palencia cultural heritage.

The route of the Camino de Santiago in Palencia

Palencia is one of the locations that crosses the Camino de Santiago, and many of our guests take advantage of the proximity of our Finca both to stop along the way and to make a stage during their stay.

If you do not mind making a car trip a little longer prior to the walk, a good option can also be from Frómista to Carrión de los Condes. Call us and we can help you find a transport to leave you there and bring you back to the Finca at night, to enjoy a relaxing bath.

Discover the “camino real palentino”

The camino real palentino is the path traditionally used by herders with their cattle to carry out transhumance, looking for warmer places in winter and more temperate in summer. This dirt road also passes near our Finca and is ideal for cycling.

A good option if you choose this route would be to roll between Husillos and Calahorra de Ribas to finish eating at Becerril de Campos. This road is quite easy to travel by bike but also walking, so, how are you going to explore Palencia this year?

Remember that in our Finca we can advise you on the route that best suits your needs and that in our rural house dogs are welcome at no additional cost. In addition, we have a 120-hectare fenced farm that you can travel without limit in case you want to stay in a cottage and relax.
