Palencia

Paredes de Nava has two treasures: Pedro de Berruguete’s paintings and the poet Jorge Manrique.

Descent of an important Castile’s aristocratic family of 15th century, this knight-soldier, nephew, son and brother of poets will be remembered for his famous “Coplas”.

You can visit the Gothic church of Sta. Eulalia, builded throughout 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. The mudejar influence is easy to find in Tierra de Campos, and here you have several examples as the pulpit and the original brick and tile tower, both from 15th century.

The work of art more important is the Renaissance altarpiece, with the famous Pedro de Berruguete’s paintings. There is also an interesting altarpiece of Saint Lucia, from 18th century and Churrigueresque decoration, so typical of the Castilian Baroque style.
